How to wear it?

1. Loosen the metatarsal strap and the toe strap . Slide your foot into the loosened metatarsal strap. Then slide the big toe into the loosened toe strap.

2. Press the orthosis onto the outside of your foot, aligning the hinges with your bunion, while holding the ends of both straps with your other hand. Tighten the straps .

3. Adjust the straps with equal tension around the big toe to a comfortable level.

4. Start by using 20 minutes a day and gradually increase until you can wear the splint 2 to 3 hours a day while walking or at night while sleeping.

5. Wear the orthotics barefoot, in slippers or wide shoes.

Due to the bump it creates at the metatarsophalangeal joint , hallux valgus must absolutely be corrected to avoid deviating all the toes and suffering from disabling and painful bursitis .

This corrective orthosis is worn at night and acts on the muscles and tendons of the foot so that the big toe deviates less outwards . This medical device does not cause pain and its effectiveness is based on proprioception .

In fact, by wearing this device to correct your hallux valgus , your joint will unconsciously get used to it and your toes will naturally regain a healthy and comfortable posture.

Correction of the axis of the big toe thanks to the two straps of the orthosis

This toe splint treats hallux valgus at its source by forcing the correct positioning of the phalanges in relation to the metatarsal bone, via the small self-gripping tightening strap .

The big toe is then immediately aligned with the rest of the foot. However, to avoid any inflammation or friction at the bunion , a second strap has been added, at the tarsus , at the top of the foot.

Depending on the progress of your bone deformity , you can very easily adjust the intensity of the correction of this night splint . The idea is to pull the big toe inwards without triggering tension.
